The Working Artist: 5-Week Incubator
A 5-week program helping artists ages 16-27, any medium, price, protect, and sell their work.
The Working Artist is a 5-week program from echo and the City of Durham for young artists who already create work and are ready to turn it into income.
This program doesn't teach you how to make art. It teaches you how to price it, protect it with copyright, photograph it well, build a portfolio, and find the right audience. Sessions are led by local artists, lawyers, entrepreneurs, and business development experts, giving participants real connections to the RDU creative community.
Participants will also have the opportunity to showcase their work at Durham's Third Friday Art Walk and Gallery Crawl.
Who it's for: Artists ages 16 to 27, working in any medium, who are actively creating and ready to take a real step toward getting paid for their work.
When: Saturdays, 10AM to 2PM, September 26 through October 24.
