Paper Street Invasive Plant Removal
Volunteer to clear invasive plants from the paper street behind The Scrap Exchange this July.

The community has been building a vision for the paper street behind The Scrap Exchange for months, and now it's time to do the groundwork that makes it possible.
Invasive plants like kudzu, wisteria, English ivy, and knotweed have taken over the forested area around the paper street, making the space harder to use, harder to maintain, and harder to reclaim for the community. Before this land can become what the Lakewood neighborhood has been imagining, these plants need to go β roots and all.
In partnership with Keep Durham Beautiful, echo is hosting three volunteer invasive plant removal days in July. Led by IPR Leader Megan Brame, we'll be using a removal method that gets the roots out so invasive plants don't grow back. The more volunteers we have, the faster we can clear the way.
