EBE Youth Showcase: Shiboka & Future Founders
Experience Shiboka’s live poetry, art, and digital magazine reveal—then see what young founders built in 12 weeks as they give live pitches, answer Q&A, and compete for $2,500 in prizes.
This event will celebrate the incredible work of our young people and mark the official launch of our 2026 youth programming.
What to Expect
Shiboka Youth Magazine Showcase
During the first half of the event, we will showcase student work from Shiboka, our for youth, by youth magazine:
- Live performances – including original poetry from students like Lithemba
- Featured writing – articles by students such as Maahir and Hajira, displayed poster-style and available in printed copies
- Visual art – including pieces like Choa’s artwork, highlighted on the big screen
We’ll also reveal the digital Shiboka magazine, where all of this content will live in one place online.
Themes will be connected to what is happening in the news and the community, so youth voices are responding to real issues around them.
Future Founders – Youth Pitch Competition
In the second half of the event, we’ll host our Future Founders pitch competition, featuring students from our most recent cohort.
You’ll get to see:
- What Future Founders is all about
- The business elements students have learned over the past 10 weeks (business basics, branding, problem-solving, and more)
- Live business pitches from youth entrepreneurs sharing their ideas with the audience
A panel of community judges will be placed throughout the room (not seated at a traditional judges’ table), quietly scoring pitches based on clarity, creativity, and potential. At the end, we’ll announce the winners and recognize all participants for their hard work.

- Celebrate the creativity, courage, and leadership of our youth
- Give parents, partners, and community members a front-row seat to what our young people are building
- Share more details about upcoming 2026 youth programs, including Future Founders (Spring 2026), Shiboka rolling submissions, and creative incubator events and civic projects.
